Inspired from a Telugu movie story
line Tagore, the Gabbar ……Is Back. This
time for a change, Gabbar is an angry rebellious man, who is on the wrong side
of system to just make it good.
Adithya (Akshay Kumar) a professor
of a college in Bombay, accidentally meets Shruti (Shruti Hasan) an aspiring
lawyer over a situation. Adithya helps Shruti get out of this situation,
eventually leading to their bond getting stronger.
Cut to parallely, every week, one
most corrupt officer from one government department in Bombay is killed
publicly. Before every murder, the killer in the name of Gabbar sends a CD to
the police informing his step. Soon Gabbar becomes a rage in public and especially
among youth who treat him as modern Robin Hood.
The story takes a turn when Shruti
comes across Adithya in police dress trying to kidnap a local police officer. What
follows next is something to watch out for.
Coming to the other aspects of
movie, in spite of its routine story line, the director Krish made sure the
story never drops its pace. With minimal songs and breezy romance this flick doesn't burn much romantic fuel.
Had been some care taken about Music
and songs it would have boosted movie further. In this case a hotty Chitrangdha
and Kareena Kapoor has been wasted.
Akshay Kumar has again done a
fabulous job single handedly taking the film on him. A cameo by sunil grover is
something worth mentioning.
All in all Gabbar with is short pace
and some noticeable performance is worth watching once. But a word of caution…..
keep the expectations low.
