A
baby saved from the wrath of destiny is found by tribals in a river, who raise
him and grows to become Shivudu (Prabhas). The journey of Shivudu begins in
search of a mystery mask which takes him to Avantika (Tamanna) his love of
life.
Shivudu
takes up the cause of Avantika to fight for, and this makes him tryst with
secrets behind his birth which also involves his real mother Devasena (Anushka)
who is waiting for the last 25 years to get released from the clutches of the
cruel king Bhallala Deva (Rana).
People
look up to Shivudu as demi-god & also their savior from the clutches of Bhallala
Deva. What follows next is something to watch out for in the movie.
Coming
to the taking of the movie, Baahubali is touted as one of the biggest movies
made so far in Indian cinema which is shot in two parts this being first. All
credit should go to the director S.S.Rajamouli for the way he has handled the
movie. Be it the characterization, his vision for the movie & narration or
the efficient use of VFX which we rarely see in Indian cinema. Also credit to Cinematographer Senthil Kumar
for making this movie look so beautiful and rich.
Coming
to performances all the characters have done good job but personally, I liked
the performances of Ramya Krishna, Nasser & Sathyaraj which were
outstanding. What I liked most about the characters is portrayal of some strong
women characters especially that of Ramya Krishna which stands out.
Coming
to the drawbacks, the movie loses its pace in some portions of first half and
early second half. The editing part of the movie can be improved. Lastly the
VFX has been used brilliantly in most of the film especially the war sequences,
but it is wrongly handled in some scenes especially that of Avalanche
sequence.
All
in all Baahubali is a good entertainer which is worth watching for.
My Rating: 3.5/5
