Jigra - Review

Movie follows Satyabhama Anand (Alia Bhatt), who is fiercely protective of her younger brother, Ankur Anand (Vedang Raina). Ankur, along with his cousin, travels to Hansi Dao, Malaysia, for studies but is wrongfully sentenced to death for drug possession. Determined to save him, Satyabhama arrives in Malaysia and teams up with Bhatia (Manoj Pahwa), a retired gangster, and Muthu (Rahul Ravindran), an ex-cop, to plan a jailbreak while Ankur and his fellow inmates plot their escape. What works - Alia Bhatt gives a strong performance as the determined sister, especially in the film’s climactic action scenes. Vedang Raina holds his own, while Manoj Pahwa and Rahul Ravindran enhance the story. Let downs - However, those looking for an engaging narrative may find Jigra lacking. The plot is predictable, and viewers familiar with the trailer may not find any surprises.
