Coolie  sadly doesn't live up to the hype. The film feels muddled and inconsistent, occasionally lifted by Rajinikanth's towering presence,  Anirudh Ravichander's  pulsating score, and slick action choreography. The plot strongly resembles Lokesh’s earlier film  Vikram . An older protagonist with a hidden past, a crime syndicate, a mysterious villain — it’s all been done before.
